Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits.

Education nowadays comes hand in hand with technology. Teacher depend on technology to get through the youths mindset , as their lives evolves around technology.

Integrating technology in education is not an option, it is a must in these days. The teachers nowadays struggle with the shift in teaching methods as they were taught in a complete different way. And even if a teacher was once considered as a tech savvy , now he is just a normal user of technology and the students are more literate in technology than the older generation.

I still remember the times when the projector was introduced to the classroom and that was considered as the state of art technology.  Today the kids in schools are born in the times of iPhones, iPads, laptops, google and all the information available at the snip of their finger. The teacher’s role is to facilitate the learning of the students and not to recite the information that can be found by the student himself. This is why education is shifting towards a project based learning (PBL) approach .

PBL opposes to the normal norm of a teacher leading the student to the path of knowledge. Due to technology, the knowledge is already there, the information is easy to acquire. So the role of the teacher is to be a maestro of the class and to guide the students to research and understand the information. Active learning and inquiry based learning are the present of education.
