Project competitions are a trend right now. So many facilities, companies, entities are funding project competitions to promote innovation and to pursue the students to come up with project ideas.
How to participate and win in project competitions?
From my humble experience of winning multiple times in first place prizes in project competitions, I can share the top 5 tips to win:
1-Confidence
Confidence is the key in winning. No matter what the project is, confidence in describing and presenting is the key to winning.
2-Working prototype
Whether its a screen , a buzzer beeping, lights switching .. there should be at least 2 components working while the demonstration is taking place.
3-Presentation
Presentation should be flashy, extreme, weird, strange, anything but normal and boring.
4-Smile
Smile while presenting, greet judges, be friendly. Although this seems as a strange advise, judges are human being and who doesn’t like to see a friendly optimistic presenter.
5-Win
Imagine yourself winning, expect yourself winning, have faith that you ARE the winner, only then you will win.
At the end whether you win or not, participating in competitions gives you a big experience and will lead to a win-win situation.
